What should I plant now?

I get this question all the time. I revisited this guide that I wrote a few years ago. It's pretty good...

Nice to be reminded. I live in New Orleans (the past 7 years) and follow the same schedule. The kale has been producing so well that I decided to leave it in for a while longer, went out this morning and it's completely bug eaten. This optimism thing I keep believeing needs to be squelched. The bugs have me outnumbered. I use all the regular organic style fixes, but honestly, I'd love to go out there with some kind of mega-chemical and blast them all to bug heaven. We all know I won't, but it is tempting. I found your blog a few years ago when I was pulling my hair out while trying to understand the planting rhythms for this area. You've been a huge help. Thanks.

Whatever you plant, using an irrigation sprinkler system to help with watering.
