Wow! - Beautiful floxglove -- in Florida??? When was this taken and how long is their bloom time here? One of my favorite plants...

The photo was taken on May 12. Foxglove is a fussy plant to grow here, but worth it. I buy them as seedlings from a local nursery (DeBary Nursery), and plant them as early as possible. This year, I put them in the ground in November. It's important to plant them in pretty rich soil, and lavish lots of water on them when it's hot. These have bloomed nonstop for weeks -- when the main stalk fades, side shoots which are smaller but more numerous come up from the middle. I like the side shoots in bouquets. We've had a fairly cool May -- last year, the heat killed them before they had a chance to really bloom.
