Hi Michael. I have a question for you. I googled this and researched it but I can't seem to find this problem anywhere. I just picked my first zucchini squash (I was so proud of myself for actually growing it myself). Low and behold, it's covered in holes. Very small holes and there was a tiny lime green worm on the fruit coming out of one of the holes. Also, the fruit had a white, clumpy substance on it, as well as the vine. I can't find anything about holes in the fruit-just vines and leaves. Any ideas? Thanks so much.

Great photo Michael! I'm with Florida Organic Growers and we are actually hosting a summer snapshot contest via our facebook page and this wold be a great entry. If you would like to participate, just submit this or any other veggie or flower picture to our page and if you get the most likes you could win a cool wall decal worth 50$. Also, if there is any way that you could promote our contest on your very successful blog we would really appreciate it. Just contact our fb page if you would be open to doing this.
Thanks,
Cameron

jamie, that's the &# pickleworm. you can control for it with BT and some other things, but i don't spray my garden... if you search in this blog for pickleworm, you can see what i've done in the past... paper bags work. or you can just get rid of the worm by soaking the cuke/squash in a bucket of water (works well!)... or you can just yank the crop and grow something more suited to summers in florida...
